Description: AFI trains the next generation of filmmakers at its world-renowned Conservatory, maintains America's film heritage through the AFI Catalog of Feature Films and explores new digital technologies in entertainment and education through the AFI Digital Content Lab and K-12 Screen Education Center. As the largest nonprofit exhibitor in the US, AFI ON SCREEN encompasses the annual AFI FEST presented by Audi: AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival-as well as year-round programming at ArcLight Hollywood and the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in Silver Spring, Maryland, including SILVERDOCS: AFI/Discovery Channel Documentary Festival.

Description: The Ann Arbor Film Festival showcases independent and experimental film and video. Established in 1963, this internationally-renowned festival is the oldest of its kind in North America. Each year the festival attracts entries from artists worldwide and screens more than 100 films before audiences during six days in March. The Ann Arbor Film Festival fosters the growth of emerging and established film and videomakers. The festival is open to film and video of all categories that demonstrate a high regard for the medium as an art form. The festival’s mission is to provide a worldwide public forum for moving image exhibitions, to encourage and showcase artists of the moving image, to promote the film as an art, and to offer educational outreach.

Atlanta Film Festival
Description: Through a juried system of selection, the 31st Atlanta Film Festival premieres narrative, documentary, animation, and student films and videos of the highest artistic quality. The film festival includes both feature films and short films. Over ten days, audiences will attend more than 150 films, learn about the art of filmmaking from visiting industry experts during festival panels, attend networking events, and party 'til the wee hours at some of the best entertainment spots in Atlanta. Opening Night features the premiere of a new independent film with artists in attendance, followed by the first of several parties. Each day, at least three films screen simultaneously from Noon until midnight, featuring a wide range of styles, subjects and perspectives. On Saturday, April 28, the Atlanta Film Festival winds down with the Closing Night Film and Party.

Berlin and Beyond Film Fest
Description: The 13th BERLIN & BEYOND will take place from January 10 to 16, 2008 at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. For more than a decade we have been presenting independent dramatic, and documentary features from Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as shorts, and a restored silent film. The festival will also include Kinofest Lünen's audience favorite, a Best First Feature Prize, an Audience Award, a special tribute and more. The Festival screens 16mm and 35mm films or digital formats in special cases (documentaries). The films main language should be German, English subtitles are required. Preview material should be on DVD or VHS video in NTSC or PAL.
