Storyboarding is the process of producing sketches and/or 3D animated movies of the shots of your script.
The end result looks like comic book and/or a moving 3D cartoon of your film.
Before creating your storyboard, you'll have to decide if you require a paper or a 3D Pre-Vis which is the
practice of using interactive 3D programs for storyboarding and/or pre-visualisation. Both of them have their
advantages and disadvantages - and both come in so many types that you can have a great time deciding which
works best for you.
A storyboard serves the same functions in many visual presentations as an outlined does in word-based projects.
Storyboarding is very important for directors and producers to pre-visualizing their shots and sets. It is also
critical in creating animation sequences.
Storyboards communicate your vision to the cinematographer, set designer and special effects supervisor, or to
create the skeletal outline around which an animated program is developed. A detailed storyboard can even save
time in writing an incomplete script. It will reduce time spent in undirected discussion. It identifies and
organizes ideas. Storyboarding allows you to work faster on set and as pictures communicate better than words
it will allow your camera crew to move their camera and lights, for producers to foresee problems, for the art
department to know which parts of the location are going to be in shot and so on. Even the actors will get a
feel of what they are going to be shooting! In short, storyboarding contributes to making the quality of your
final movie a great deal better.
Storyboard = an excellent tool for planning a production (Pre-Visualize the idea) + tool for communication
with others.
A movie without a storyboard is like a cart without a horse. You have no idea which direction whatsoever is
going to pull the cart. And when you realize your mistake, it may be too late.
Our storyboards range from the rough sketch to the finished storyboard and/or 3D Pre-Vis.
Pre visualization so you can see virtually any shot imaginable before you spend time, energy, and money on
shots that only sound cool.
